The Neo Firewall is part of our Layer 3 product suite, delivering ultra-low latency packet filtering with just 40 nanoseconds processing time, ideal for low-latency environments requiring strict regulatory compliance. Built on the Neo X platform, the solution offers rule-based filtering, extensive logging and other advanced features.
Neo Firewall can operate in two modes
Cut-through mode
In cut-through mode the firewall begins transmitting each packet as soon as possible, before validation is complete. Cut-through mode offers a minimum latency of 40ns and a maximum latency of 49ns. Cut-through mode must only be enabled if the next device in the chain can handle corrupted packets and drop them (such as Layer 3 switches).
Legacy mode
Legacy mode must be used when cut-through mode can’t be supported by other devices. In legacy mode firewall’s latency is 84ns minimum, 93ns maximum.
