NeoV2

Reconfigurable Networking Platform. Now Fully 25G L1 Compatible.

The most powerful and versatile among all LDA and non-LDA devices available on the market today, the Neo platform enables the creation of the most advanced FPGA networking solutions.

Exchanges will be implementing 25G in the near future: be ready for the next step in the evolution of trading with the significantly upgraded NeoV2 featuring fully configurable 25G Layer 1 switching.

The NeoV2 delivers a significant 25G/100G upgrade to LDA's flagship ultra-low latency platform. Its new 25G Layer 1 board utilizes LDA's signature approach using small Cross Point switches to provide industry-leading ultra-low latency and signal quality ensuring the fastest communication across your network. The NeoV2 platform can host much more powerful FPGA boards than before, such as those based on Versal Premium FPGAs.

And, with the Neo platform's upgraded 25G capability, Neo-based solutions like NeoMux have also been enhanced to be 25G compatible. This ensures the delivery of even more robust options to meet your trading needs

Added Features:

  • Fully configurable 25G Layer 1 fabric
  • Ultra-low latency 25G mux and ACL filtering
  • All NEO-based solution updated
  • Improved 25G and 100G Timestamping

As with all LDA devices, the Neo is powered by LDA's proprietary DSDA™ (Direct SerDes Access) technology.

FAQ

Q: The original Neo is also 25G capable, how is the NeoV2 better?

A: The Neo platform has been 25G capable since its release in 2021, except for the Layer 1 mesh. We could have put a 25G Layer 1 into the existing chassis - the 25G signal quality is satisfactory for many tasks - but our perfectionist development team decided to make other changes to improve 25G signal quality. The NEOv2 delivers a full 25G capable Layer 1 mesh, as well as better signal handling on 25G/100G.

Q: Can I still buy the original Neo devices?

A: The NeoV2 is fully backwards compatible. For the time being, LDA will continue shipping both versions of the platform, with the NEOv2 intended for customers interested in 25G/100G. Eventually NeoV2 will fully replace the previous generation.

Q: Is the 25G Layer 1 board 10G capable? Is it a full replacement for 10G Layer 1 in the original Neo?

A: The NeoV2's 25G Layer 1 board is fully 10G capable. However, it may be more efficient and cost-effective to continue using the 10G Layer 1 mesh at co-locations that don't plan on deploying 25G in near future. Both 25G and 10G Layer 1 mesh are fully supported and can be selected when ordering the device.
